About the Lectures
Mike believes in making lectures fun and interactive, rather than stuffy and one sided. With each lecture Mike will tell funny and inspirational stories and get the audience involved as much as possible. Along with videos and photos, Mike will have giveaways for the audience and he will leave them laughing. Every lecture is about an hour long (though can be tailored to be shorter or longer) and will end with a Q&A and book signing.
Mike will provide your location with marketing materials and help promote the event through his social media and various other ways.

Standard Lecture
In this lecture, Mike tells his motivational life story. From being a remedial student with poor reading skills to performing all over the world, to writing over a dozen books and running a successful publishing company, Mike’s life is full of funny and inspirational tales. With the goal of inspiring the audience to follow their dreams, this lecture is a perfect base lecture for any location.
Horror Writing
Having written over 100 horror short stories, working with genre legends on their official biographies and running a horror imprint at his publishing company, horror is in Mike’s blood. This lecture focuses on the art and industry of horror. From why we find things scary to how to spook a reader, this lecture focuses on aspects of the macabre. With horror being one of the most profitable genres there is, this lecture is great for any time of the year, but of course it is also perfect for the Halloween season
Publishing Q&A
Running a publishing company since 2010 and having extensive writing experience, Mike is a true expert at the writing world. From self-publishing to six figure book contracts with major houses to tens of thousands of his books sold in over 100 countries, Mike has done it all and succeeded. Using that experience, Mike gives an informative talk about writing and the industry, but focuses most of this talk on answering questions that the audience wants to know about writing and publishing.
Non-Fiction/Memoir Writing
Having worked on five celebrity biographies, Mike specializes in non-fiction writing. In this lecture Mike talks about the unique journey of writing non-fiction, including tips and tricks of capturing a voice and keeping a reader compelled. At the start of the lecture, Mike will interact with the attendees to find out what interests them the most about non-fiction so he can tailor the talk to what they came there to learn.
Being a Writer
Only 2% of authors make a living by just writing! It is a hard and exhausting career choice, but Mike has had more success in it than most. Like he always says, writing is the easy part, selling your work and having a career is the hard part. In this lecture, Mike talks about the hard truths about being a writer and how to have a successful career. With discussions about marketing yourself to getting published and read, Mike gives a full overview of how to have a career in the industry.
